Why we love it

Vallarta is the destination we send couples who want both: a five-star resort weekend in Punta Mita and a genuine Mexican town twenty minutes away. The sun sets into the ocean here, which sounds trivial until you’ve watched a ceremony end with the sky on fire behind the couple.

The water is warm and swimmable year-round, the seafood is spectacular and the airport is a fifteen-minute drive from the hotel zone.

What to know

Punta Mita is a gated peninsula with two resorts and private estates; access for vendors requires advance credentials, and we handle every one of them. Yelapa and the south-bay beaches are boat-access only, wonderful for a welcome party, ambitious for a ceremony.

Rainy season (June to October) brings dramatic afternoon storms that clear by evening. We work around them rather than against them, and never schedule an outdoor ceremony before 5pm in those months.

Signature moments we’ve planned here

• A sunset ceremony on a Punta Mita point with the surf breaking below, then dinner under a canopy of 2,000 hanging bulbs.
• A panga-boat welcome party to Yelapa, ceviche and beer on the sand, a waterfall hike for the brave.
• A farewell taco crawl through Vallarta’s Zona Romántica, led by a local chef.
